Impressive/Unimpressive: Michigan's Fuel for Thought
June 16, 2008 Joe Jacobs - SCR
Impressive:
Dale Earnhardt Jr.: He finally won, look out there are more to come. But I wonder if NASCAR threw the yellow
just a tad fast... Now his fans will defiantly begin to pre-order greatest driver of all time tee shirts for his impending
championship.
Brian Vickers: Week in and week out it seems that
this team is getting better and better. It won't be long until they will pull in to victory lane. Red Bull Racing has
probably had the greatest turn around of all time.
Matt Kenseth: I left Kenseth's season dead on the side of
the road when his crew chief was promoted. But this team has fought back and might be in the Chase come September. This is
another driver that has a win coming his way in the very near future.
Joey Logano: I still don't know
what to make of this kid. He did win his first Nationwide race in only his third start, that's impressive. But his attitude
seems to be one of entitlement. He comes off like he is owed wins and they should be giving to him because he had so much
buzz around him. He might be able to run wide open in the Nationwide Series, but Cup is another animal and there will be hard
knocks and lessons to be learned.
Unimpressive:
Rusty Wallace: During
the Nationwide race Saturday night, they were mentioning the devastation in the Midwest and Rusty said, "don't worry
fans Iowa Speedway is open and ready to host the IRL race." How self-centered can he be, I mean Rusty I don't think
that the Iowa Speedway needs that much publicity and racing is probably the last thing on anyone's mind in the Midwest...
Our prayers go out to all of them.
Greg Biffle: Mistakes and problems with the car and yet you want to
re-sign with Roush Fenway Racing. If Biffle is looking to be mediocre race car driver then he should sign on the dotted line.
He could end up like Jeff Burton did at Roush, ran out of town because there wasn't a sponsor and he was running in the
back. Biffle is a better driver than the equipment he is being provided.
Penske Racing: I am not sure
what the problem is, they finished one-two at Daytona and have gone down hill ever since. Just a thought, perhaps if they
put as much effort in NASCAR as they do into the IRL they may win more races. They also may not blow up as much or crash out
each and every week.
Jimmie Johnson: I think he likes the drama of television, while leading the race
he says that there is something wrong with the transmission. I am not a mechanic but first gear is the get up and go gear
and when the green flag dropped on that restart, Johnson got up and went. So Johnson ha to stop making up issues to get attention
and pity. AFTER ALL HE US A TWO TIME CUP CHAMPION.
