Impressive/Unimpressive: South of the Border

Joe Jacobs - SCR

Impressive:

Kyle Busch: Winning three in a row and thinking about running for the championship. I am sure Toyota will agree but not sure if Joe Gibbs will, but you never know. If things are not so great in the points for the Cup side Gibbs might allow it. I still say Kyle Busch will be the first driver to win a Truck, Nationwide, and Cup series race in the same weekend.

Marcus Ambrose: Even with the little run in with Boris Said, it was a good day. Finishing second in Mexico things are looking up. Look for him to do well the rest of the year and potentially pull off a win.

Boris Said: Yeah he got crashed out of the race but still I liked his attitude, He said exactly what he was going to do. He said he was going to apologize to the crew chief for making him fix a crashed racecar in the future. He did just that; apologize to the crew chief, which made for great television.

Ray Evernham: He is great on TV, when or if he ever gets out of racing and does not go back to the top of the pit box, he would be a great replacement for Jeff Hammond or Rusty Wallace…. especially Rusty Wallace.

Unimpressive:

ESPN: Sometimes errors cannot be helped; the power grid issue in Mexico is one thing I understand cannot be helped. However, missing the pass for the win and not offering a replay to show for is inexcusable.

Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez: Using what we in America call K Rails as walls is not acceptable. Every time it was hit, it was damaged and the race had to be red flagged. I don’t know why NASCAR puts up with it. But then I thought, there must be a lot of money in the race down there or NASCAR would not go.

Rusty Wallace: They put you back in the booth because Dale Jarrett is on vacation, and what did you do? What you normally do, say ignorant things and over explained things that the most novice fan even knows.

NASCAR: I don’t know why the No. 40 car driven by Scott Pruitt was not black flagged for the bumper cover flapping in the breeze. NASCAR rules are the same rules in Mexico as they are here in America. The rule should have been followed and NASCAR should have black flagged him.
